What if my vehicle is totaled?

A vehicle is commonly considered a “total loss” when the cost of repairs exceed approximately 75% or more of the vehicle’s fair market value prior to damages. Your insurance company will decide if the vehicle is a total loss or not. If deemed non-repairable, the insurance company will settle with you and take control of the vehicle. You may opt to receive a partial settlement from the insurance company and keep the vehicle, but it will have a salvaged or rebuilt title, even if repairs are made. Your insurance company can help you with this process.
